What's Your Brand's Identity?

Seven quick questions and get your brand archetype, tone of voice, and dircetion on your colour palette and font pairing.

What is a brand identity quiz?

A brand identity quiz is a short set of questions designed to surface the personality your brand is already showing customers, often without meaning to. Instead of starting from a blank page, you're working from patterns: how you talk to clients, what you'd never say, what your team does under pressure. Those patterns map to a brand archetype, and from there to concrete decisions like tone of voice, colour palette and typography.

It isn't a replacement for proper brand strategy work: a quiz can't account for your competitive position, your customers' research, or your commercial goals the way a full brand strategy process can. What it's good for is a fast, honest starting point, especially if you've never sat down and defined what your brand sounds and looks like on paper. If you're still unsure whether a logo refresh is what you need, it's also worth reading why your logo isn't your brand before you go further.

How to use your results

Your result is a starting brief, not a finished brand. Here's what to do with it.

01

Sense-check it with your team

Share the result with two or three people who deal with customers directly. If it doesn't ring true to them, the quiz has picked up a pattern that doesn't hold. That's useful information too.

02

Audit your existing copy against it

Pull up your homepage, your last five emails, your social captions. Do they follow the "do" list, or drift into the "don't" list? Most brands are inconsistent simply because nobody wrote the rules down.

03

Treat the palette and type as a direction, not a decision

The colours and fonts in your result are a starting direction based on your archetype. A real identity needs them tested against your logo, your industry, and where you're seen.

04

Get a second opinion before you commit

A 20-minute call with someone who does this for a living will tell you fast whether your result is a genuine direction or a false start. See our brand & identity service for what that looks like.

Want your brand identity done properly?

A quiz result is a direction. A working brand identity means voice guidelines your whole team can write from, and a palette and type system built for your actual channels. It's what we do for clients like BoardPro and Hyform Performance.

Common questions

What's a brand archetype?
A brand archetype is a recognisable personality type, like the Sage, the Outlaw or the Caregiver, borrowed from storytelling and applied to brands. Customers connect with archetypes because they're familiar patterns, not because of any magic in the label itself. It's a tool for consistency, not a personality test result to frame on the wall.
Is this the same as a brand strategy?
No. This quiz gives you a fast, directional read on tone and visual identity. A full brand strategy also covers positioning, audience, competitive differentiation and messaging architecture: the commercial thinking behind the identity, not just the identity itself.
How long does the quiz take?
About 90 seconds: seven questions, no lengthy form until the very end when you unlock your full one-page brief.
What do I get at the end?
A one-page brief: your brand archetype, tone-of-voice do's and don'ts, a three-colour palette with hex codes, and a display/body font pairing with the reasoning behind it.
Is it free?
Yes. We ask for your email to send the full result, and occasionally follow up if it's relevant. Nothing else.
What if my result doesn't feel right?
That happens, especially for brands sitting between two archetypes. Retake it and answer as your brand behaves today, not how you'd like it to behave. Then talk it through with us via our brand & identity service if it's still unclear.
